The tiki glossary is your guide to terms, and words used in tiki drinks.  This is a work in progress. It will probably never be complete as tiki cocktails evolve.  I’ve been adding definitions as I learn things and as people ask me questions.  If there is a tiki term you are unsure of let me know.  I’m happy to answer.

Dark Rum

Dark Jamaican Rum is distilled in Jamaica, and is commonly aged in charred oak barrels.  The rum is darker in color, sweeter, and usually has more flavor than white or gold rum.  Some common brands are Coruba and Meyer's.

Cranberry Juice

Cranberry juice is the juice of the cranberry.  On its own it can be very tart.  Most commercially available cranberry juice is mixed with apple juice, grape juice, water, or sugar.

Cointreau

Cointreau is a brand of triple sec that is produced in France.  It is an orange flavored liqueur.   Substitutions: Other brands of triple sec.
