The Mai Tai is the first thing many people think of when they think tiki drinks, and there are as many Mai
Tai recipes in the world as there are Mai Tai drinkers. So every Monday I want to explore a different Mai Tai recipe. Besides, what is a better way to relax after a long Monday than having a great Mai Tai?
This week’s Mai Tai I found on drinkandfoodonline.com where they showcased the Mai Tai recipe from The Bird All-American Bar and Grill in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. Check it out:
Fill a glass with Ice
- 1 oz. Spiced Rum
- 1 oz. Triple Sec
- Splash of Lime Juice
- Splash of Grenadine
- Top with half Pineapple Juice and half OJ.
Blend and serve!
So I put this Mai Tai recipe to the test. It was actually pretty good. It’s not what I think of as a traditional Mai Tai, but it was more like a tropical smoothie with rum. It was really sweet. I’m a sweet drink fan, but I don’t think even I could do more than one of these, but it’s a fun way to start the night off. It would also work great as a dessert drink.
